My name is Dr Nikos Tsigaras and I am an experienced and highly qualified Chartered Psychologist and Registered Counselling Psychologist offering individual and couples counselling and psychotherapy in Liverpool Street. I endeavour to provide an ethical and confidential service tailored to your individual needs.
I have practiced as a psychologist for over 10 years and have extensive experience in helping both individuals and couples. My clients have often experienced adverse life effects such as neglect or abuse, bullying, bereavement, difficulties conceiving, and major life transitions. Anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, self-criticism, thinking about the past, worrying about the future, difficulties attracting and keeping partners are issues I try to help with on a daily basis. Many people have suffered considerably by changes in their jobs such as restructuring, promotion, redundancy, and new management.
I have worked in the NHS for a number of years with the full spectrum of needs in primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings with both outpatients and inpatients, individuals, groups, and families.
I have a special interest in childhood trauma and working on a long-term basis, but I also welcome people who need a briefer piece of work.
I am particularly interested in diversity and welcome individuals, couples, and families regardless of sexual orientation, ethnic origin, or spiritual beliefs.
I can help with the following presentations:
Anxiety: generalised, panic disorder, OCD, social phobia
Problems in forming and maintaining relationships
Complex Trauma and PTSD
Concerns around gender identity, sexuality, and sexual practices
Eating disorders and body image difficulties
Childhood sexual abuse and current sexual, domestic, or other abuse
Alcohol or drug misuse
Chronic health conditions
Loss of interest, meaning, or direction, chronic feelings of emptiness, boredom or agitation
